Eversheds Sutherland are seeking an experienced Finance Systems Lead to join our Finance Systems Team.

The main focus of the role is to support and maintain the core finance systems, which are primarily the Practice Management System, a SAP based solution, and Intapp Time, the firm’s time recording solution. It will involve understanding, analysing, and resolving issues as well as acting as a subject matter expert for these core systems. Reporting into the Finance Systems Manager, the Finance Systems Lead will also act as deputy to the Finance Systems Manager, providing a point of escalation when needed.

 About the Role

Eversheds Sutherland (International) are seeking an experienced Finance Systems Lead to join our Finance Systems Team.

The role is primarily responsible for supporting the core finance systems and acting as a first point of escalation for the Finance Systems team for support issues. It will involve working closely with stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, suppliers, development teams and support teams to manage resources and to translate the business requirements into deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and resolve incidents, issues, and requests and look for opportunities to introduce efficiencies and reduce resource constraints
  • Ensure appropriate change control is followed
  • Plan and manage Project related work identifying and escalating, where necessary, any concerns or barriers to timely delivery
  • Assisting with transition of any activities from Projects to Service Delivery
  • Assist in the management of relationships with 3rd party suppliers
  • Advise and take responsibility for the delivery of any small change or Project work that has an impact our financial systems estate
  • Implementation, monitoring and reporting of controls across all Finance systems including authorisations, segregation of duties and data integrity
  • Responsibility for providing solutions for issues in the accounts/systems and ensure the correct system configuration related to new offices and legal entity changes
  • Support the needs of the business through changing regulations and corporate structures.
  • Support continuous improvement of the finance systems.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of supporting a Practice Management System (or ERP – ideally SAP) with strong functional and technical knowledge including system architecture
  • Solid experience of working in a finance systems function supporting business stakeholders
  • Proven stakeholder management experience, demonstrating ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
  • Present options (in plain English) and assist stakeholders in understanding the pros/cons and to select the appropriate one.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and make a significant difference to the team and business which you support
  • Customer focused, flexible, results driven and used to operating in a period of change and renowned for your accuracy and insight
  • Willingness to roll sleeves up and undertake a range of activities at critical times of the month
  • Be highly effective as part of a wider team, and a real team player
  • An ability to identify and own technical challenges and lead efforts to overcome these.
  • Knowledge of project delivery cycles and frameworks.
  • Awareness of Project Management, Resource Management and Business Analysis best practice
  • Understanding of Quality.
