Main purpose of role:

In 2019, the firm embarked on a matter lifecycle transformation programme. This has been a major programme of systems and business change, delivering best practice processes on an SAP platform that drives efficiency and effectiveness in our existing finance operations and provides a solid platform for further growth, both in the UK and around the world. 

After significant amount of preparation and project work, this platform will be going live in May 2023. The role will report directly to the IT COE manager and provides support to the Finance and Accounting teams.

As part of the SAP Community of Excellence Team, the SAP S2C Support analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, the IT team, and integration partners to ensure the PMS system is fully functional and meeting the needs of the business stakeholders. 


Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the resolution of requests routed from the Service Desk pertaining to the Service to Cash Process (S2C). 
  • Provide support including root cause analysis, propose solutions and test and track the proposed solutions. 
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on the S2C processes and support end users that perform these business processes within SA
  • Assist the S2C Functional Support Lead with specific S2C questions as necessary and escalate risks and issues identified in a timely manner
  • Participate in project work, new implementations and planning of future system enhancements as needed, including integration testing, regression testing, user training  and post go-live support
  • Assist with configuration activities for the Sales and Distribution (SD)-Resource Related Billing (e.g., billing formats, pricing, taxes, etc.), Project Systems (PS), and Personnel Administration (PA) modules to satisfy business requirements and business process design.
  • Provide input to and support creation of SAP training and SAP knowledge management documentation as it relates to S2C.
  • Participate in the build, deployment, testing and remediation of new system release(s)
  • Assist with the creation of comprehensive functional and process designs that address the needs of key stakeholders from the S2C area
  • Document solutions to optimize the maintenance and improve the knowledge baseAdapt SAP best practices to optimize the PMS system
  • Meet with the IT COE manager to discuss types of issues and support queue timings

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in IT, Finance or Data Analytics
  • Minimum 3 year experience in a functional support position experience is recommended
  • Experience with the following SAP Modules:  SD – SAP Sales and Distribution, PS – Resource Based Billing and Project Systemand also a full understanding of how these modules integrate with FI, P2P and CO.
  • Experience with Support Desk applications such as (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Remedy), along with an understanding of the ITIL Service Delivery processes
  • Experience with gathering functional and technical requirements using relationship diagrams, use case diagrams, workflow diagrams, RDDs, PDDs, etc.Proficient in S4/HANA and FIORI applications relating to the S2C areas
  • Legal industry experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of service-to-cash processes (e.g., billing, budgeting, client matter management, cost processing, fee management, matter budgeting, normalization, time recording, WIP management)
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into SAP technical terms to provide requirements to the vendor.
