You would be joining a team providing world class financial services to our business. The Role

The role reports to a Group Finance Manager and is part of a team of 10 people within Central Finance at Eversheds.

The role will take ownership for certain aspects of the accounts, for example fixed assets, plus is responsible for some of the transactional processing within the team

 

Skills & Experience 

  • Creation of fixed assets on our accounting system, ensuring that there is appropriate challenge and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Management of the international fixed asset registers – managing additions, disposals, transfers, WIP and the depreciation cost base.
  • Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations such as prepayments and accruals, ensuring these are controlled and understood.
  • Supporting month end close, including posting of monthly journals relating to areas of responsibility within the accounts.
  • Submission of external information to interested parties, for example government surveys.
  • Involvement in the external audit through accounts preparation and responding to audit queries.
  • Liaison with all areas of finance as appropriate to resolve ad hoc queries.

 

 

Key Competencies

  • Under graduate degree, however will consider school leaver or equivalent.
  • Intermediary Excel skills. Able to use pivot tables as well as certain power functions (e.g. vlookup, hlookup, sumifs, Index etc.)
  • Experience in various working environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English (both written and oral).
  • Good stakeholder management.
  • Experience of operating within a highly effective team.
  • Solution oriented and ability to act on own initiative.
  • Consistently positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach.
  • Ability to manage conflicting timescales and multiple projects.
  • Organised and efficient with a ‘right first time’ approach to quality of work
