Job Role Purpose

The Product Owner acts as a key member of the SES team supporting the delivery of the Client Knowledge Solutions strategy as well as driving its use across the firm. The Product Owner will use their expertise, knowledge and hands on experience to both raise and support awareness as well as ensuring the adoption of relevant solutions in day to day practice whilst focussing on delivering an outstanding client experience.

On a day-to-day basis, the Product Owner will be responsible for taking ownership and responsibility for how we expand our Client legal knowledge using technology. This would include working towards our plans to use our external e-learning platform to provide a more all-encompassing knowledge hub for our Clients. Alongside this they will be responsible for embedding and putting the right structures and governance in place to support our mobile app development strategy. They would also take the lead on understanding the usage and benefits we are gaining from the solutions in this area and working with the Solutions Manager and BRMs to identify roadmaps to increase this over time.

Stakeholder management, at all levels of seniority, and communication will be integral in helping to succeed in this role. Working closely with our Legal Teams and Technologists on a day-to-day basis to better understand their needs and how best these can be delivered using the tools and platforms we have.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Legal Tech Solutions Manager the Product Owner will support the delivery of the Client Knowledge Solutions strategy in line with the SES firm-wide strategy.
  • Leads and supports on projects in the Client Knowledge Solutions workstream to both raise the profile of the team’s objectives firm-wide as well as ensuring it becomes embedded in day to day practice in line with the firm-wide strategy.
  • Embeds themselves within the firm collaborating with multiple senior stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver both strategic and operational legal technology solutions in line with the firm-wide strategy.
  • Have a specific focus of internally driving the awareness and adoption of legal tech solutions and ensuring that they are embedded in day to day practice and using that to enhance the overall offering for existing and new clients. This may involve an operational involvement in pitches and proposals to enhance the likelihood of the firm winning future work.
  • Takes a proactive role in upskilling stakeholders in tech solutions across the practice groups in line with the SES strategy. To achieve this the Product Owner will be required to work collaboratively with multiple senior stakeholders within the practice groups and international operations teams.
  • Manages a high, and sometimes complex, workload day to day with the ability to prioritise work and achieve time sensitive deadlines whilst keeping a focus on the long term wider strategic goals of the team.
