Our team

We are a national banking practice with an enviable list of clients and transactions to our name. We regularly advise high profile clients, consisting of UK and global financial institutions, private equity houses, funds and corporates on complex domestic and cross-border transactions and are able to utilise our strong domestic and international network of specialists. The breadth and quality of work that we undertake sets us apart from many of our competitors and on the majority of transactions we act opposite high quality City finance practices.

Our banking team covers corporate/leverage finance, real estate finance, project finance and debt capital markets. Key areas of focus for the team in the North of England include:

Corporate and leverage finance - we have a wide-ranging practice and represent private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers and lenders (both banks and private capital providers). We advise on a full range of leveraged situations, M&A, corporate finance and refinancing and group reorganisation. We work closely with our highly regarded corporate, tax, restructuring and private equity teams, and have developed very strong working relationships with a number of well-known and active debt advisers and other law firms active in these markets.

Real estate finance – we have one of the leading REF practices in the market, acting for many of the major domestic and international banks as well as alternative lenders and corporate borrowers, on major bilateral, syndicated and structured transactions, and in developing their products. We work closely with our real estate, construction, corporate, tax and international teams.

Role and key responsibilities

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Banking team in Manchester. You will provide support to the fee earners predominately in Manchester and Leeds but often also in other offices. Your role may include you drafting documents and managing conditions precedents on transactions. You will be heavily involved in the completing of transactions and will be responsible for dealing with all post-completion matters. You will liaise with clients and lawyers and can expect a diverse, challenging and rewarding workload.


Skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • A law degree and/or LPC (or equivalent qualifications) would be an advantage.
  • An eye for detail, strong organisational skills and able to take responsibility for own workload.
  • Efficient, commercial and able to think laterally.
  • Preferably experience working as part of a team.
