Our team

Eversheds Sutherlands’ Employment Law team is one of the largest in the world. With more than 100 Employment lawyers and more recognised experts in the UK than any other firm, we have the expertise and resources to deal with matters of any size and complexity. The quality of work we can offer is unparalleled. Our clients include many of the world’s largest and most sophisticated employers and the matters we advise on range from multi-jurisdictional projects to high value litigation in the Employment Tribunals and the High Court. We are regularly advising on ground breaking or high profile employment cases.

Our team has an outstanding reputation for delivering quality advice, in the format our clients want, on time and on budget. We also work closely with various government departments and agencies and employers' groups to ensure, as new law is drafted, that it is fit for purpose and reflects the commercial needs of our clients.

Role and key responsibilities

We are looking to expand the team and have an opening for a Principal Associate. Our preferred candidate will have at least 8 years’ post qualification experience.

Someone who is interested in being part of an energetic team of specialist Employment solicitors within a challenging and rewarding area of law.

The team undertakes contentious and non-contentious works for both national and international

clients. Works include Employment Tribunal litigation (including complex discrimination, whistleblowing, contingent workers and equal pay cases), multi-jurisdictional and UK projects (re-organisations, outsourcing, mergers and acquisitions), employee relations advisory cases, industrial relations and corporate support.

The resources of an international firm allow all of our lawyers to produce their best work and use

their imagination as well as legal skills to provide a great service to our clients.

The ideal applicant will be adaptable and committed to offering innovative solutions to the issues our clients face.

Ideally applicants will have experience at a national/international law firm. Applicants looking to relocate to the Leeds will be considered.

As part of this role you can expect to be:

  • Working directly with the Partners and wider team to manage complex projects
  • Dealing with transactional employment cases across a number of sectors including technology, retail, diversified industrials, financial services and utilities
  • Advising clients on high profile cases

Skills and experience

In order to be successful, the applicant must be able to meet client needs, both from a commercial and technical perspective and build exceptional relationships with internal and external contacts.

They will have good communication and influencing skills together with technical skills and knowledge. They will enjoy working as part of a team but be equally able to manage their own matters efficiently and promptly. We are looking for candidates who can show they are client-centered and can manage quality, risk and finance and delegate work to a wider team.
