The Team

From our Cardiff team we conduct work for a wide range of banks, lenders, insurers and industry bodies. We handle a wide range of disputes, including litigation and contentious regulatory matters, working on both domestic and cross-border mandates. Examples of our work include: dealing with retail and consumer finance mis-selling disputes; pursuing high value cross-border recovery claims arising from intermediary fraud; pursing professional negligence claims arising from commercial and residential conveyancing transactions; dealing with commercial banking disputes; supporting financial services clients on internal investigations, past-business reviews and contentious regulatory investigations, for example on matters relating to financial crime compliance.

You will join a team of 40 lawyers and can expect to work on a range of matters, both handling cases of your own and supporting senior lawyers on larger and more complex matters.

The Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of taking responsibility for and managing a demanding caseload, building and developing client relationships, and working under pressure to meet deadlines, particularly in an active litigation context. This is a rapidly growing and dynamic team with great career prospects.

Typically, you will be NQ-3 years PQE with previous experience of Financial Services disputes, however that is not essential.

Due to Covid-19, the team are continuing their remote working, as we enter a post covid world the team are keen to keep a flexible working approach to the role and therefore we welcome applications from outside of Cardiff.

  • Ability to analyse complex factual situations and distil the key issues clearly and concisely
  • Exceptional organisational skills as well as high attention to detail.
  • A commitment to delivering first rate client service is essential.
  • You should be a team player, client focused and a good communicator with a strong practical approach to your workload.
  • Strong problem solving capabilities.
  • ‘Can do’ attitude and prepared to go the extra mile to ensure we are able to meet our clients’ needs.
